Camden is consulting on bike hangars at five local sites affecting Belsize Avenue, Belsize Park Gardens, Lancaster Grove and Wedderburn Road.

Camden’s rationale: ‘The proposals aim to introduce 95 secure cycle hangars which provide covered, secure, and fully enclosed cycle storage facilities at 51 locations across the Borough. There is an ever-increasing demand for such facilities from residents living in high density dwellings with limited space for sheltered and secure cycle storage space within their properties. A lack of secure cycle hangar storage facilities is currently a barrier to some of our residents cycling. The introduction of secure cycle hangar storage facilities, especially in locations near high density dwellings, would encourage more of our residents to cycle.’

Two redundant disabled spaces will be removed in Belsize Park Gardens and Lancaster Grove which will mitigate the slight loss of Residents’ Parking spaces (one Residents’ bay is approx 5.6m long)
