We are The Belsize Society, registered charity number 1180842. Our website address is belsize.org.uk.
When you join The Belsize Society as a member, we record the information you give us. This always includes your name and your address including postcode. This may also include your phone number(s) and email
address(es). We also record the date on which your membership subscription is paid each year. We retain information on subscription payments for three years.
We record Gift Aid declarations and are obliged to retain this information for 6 years after the end of the tax year to which they relate.
We do not ever record or hold any information about your payments, including card details and bank accounts. These are processed by our payment provider, Stripe, and you can read their privacy policy here.
If you request a password reset, we may record your IP address to help secure, validate and process the password reset request.
We hold the details of the tradespersons recommended by members for inclusion in our ‘Traders You Can Trust’ booklet.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
If/when you log in, we will also set several cookies to save your login information and your display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and display options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
This site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. Our membership data is available to the Membership Secretary, the Treasurer, the Chair, the Editor of ‘Traders You Can Trust’ and the Webmaster.
Data may also be made available to other trustees or committee members organising specific events. It is never made available to (other than trustees and committee members) any other party or outside organisations.
If another person asks to be put in contact with you, we will not confirm or deny whether you are a member of the Society. We will say to them that, if you are a member, we will contact you to invite you to contact the enquirer.
If you let us know that you are resigning from the BelSoc we delete the information we hold about you. If you do not pay your subscription we remove your information from our main database but retain it for up to three years in case you later decide to rejoin and pay your subscription.
We are obliged to hold information about Gift Aid declarations for 5 years
You may ask to see a copy of any information which we hold about you. We will delete any information you ask to have removed, but membership of the Society is not practicable if we do not hold your name, address and subscription record.
