Welcome to the February Newsletter of the Belsize Society.
This Newsletter includes an article about the recent changes in the 100 Avenue Road development, as the developers engage about construction plans. There is also a piece about the processes in place to ensure the growing numbers of e-bikes are parked in the right places. We also cover how the police are increasingly using e-bikes, useful in catching criminals on e-bikes, as well other crimes where the versatility and speed of the bikes can help.
The local pub, the Stag, is re-opening. This is a reversal of the trends that have seen pubs in our area closing. We wish Andy Donvaband best as he manages the pub’s return.
There is a piece in the Newsletter about the plans of the Belsize Community Library to use the phone box on Upper Park Road / Haverstock Hill as a setting for a mini library allowing a book exchange and displays. There are also articles about the recent Indian Ink play at the Hampstead Theatre and upcoming events at the Belsize Community Library.
This is a busy time for the Society. In March, we hold the Society’s AGM and papers for this are available online. The AGM involves the election of a new committee, and we’d be grateful if you consider whether you can help with running the Society (with any volunteers for other activities also welcomed).
Also with this Newsletter is the annual request for submissions about traders you have used so that we can keep Traders You Can Trust as update as possible. Finally, May sees the local elections for Camden Council. As with past local elections, we will hold a hustings and are asking for questions for that.
